Soul Men is a 2008 comedy-drama directed by Malcolm D. Lee and starring Bernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson as two former backup singers for an R&B legend. When their old lead singer passes away, the pair are invited to perform at a memorial tribute concert at the Apollo Theater in New York. Estranged for years and nursing old wounds, they embark on a cross-country road trip from Los Angeles in a Cadillac, forced to confront their complicated history and rediscover their musical partnership along the way.
