The Shape of Punk to Come, released in 1998 by Swedish band Refused, is a bold artistic statement that fuses hardcore punk with experimental elements including speedcore, free jazz, electronica, and lo-fi production. Featuring Andreas Nilsson, David Sandstrom, and Dennis Lyxzen, the album merges political expression and musical innovation into a unified whole, rejecting commercial accessibility in favor of uncompromising artistic vision. The record opens with a spoken intro before launching into sprawling, dynamic compositions that shift between thunderous riffs, metronomic grooves, and chaotic noise, with Lyxzen’s vocals ranging from sweet falsetto to primal screams.

This CD contains nine tracks including the opening epic “Worms of the Senses / Faculties of the Skull,” the groove-driven “Liberation Frequency,” and “New Noise,” showcasing the band’s refusal to follow conventional punk formulas. A used copy from us means you own this landmark album at a fraction of retail cost.
