Saving Mr. Banks is a 2013 drama directed by John Lee Hancock that tells the true story behind the creation of Mary Poppins. The film follows author P.L. Travers as she reluctantly agrees to work with Walt Disney to adapt her beloved book for the screen in the early 1960s. Through parallel narratives, the movie explores Travers’ formative years in Australia and her difficult adult personality, revealing how her past shaped her resistance to Disney’s vision. Emma Thompson stars as the stubborn, proper Travers, while Colin Farrell, Bradley Whitford, B.J. Novak, and Jason Schwartzman round out the cast in this blend of comedy and drama that examines the clash between artist and studio.

This Blu-ray edition includes one disc with a runtime of two hours and five minutes and carries a PG-13 rating from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. A digital copy is also included with your purchase. You’re getting a hand-inspected copy of this engaging drama about creativity and compromise.
