Saints and Soldiers: The Void is a 2014 war action film directed by Ryan Little. Set in May 1945 Germany during the final days of World War II, the story follows a U.S. tank crew on a mission deep in the Harz Mountains who discover a German platoon equipped with three Panzer tanks preparing to ambush American supply trucks. Private Jesse Owens, an African American tank driver, must navigate both the external threat of the enemy and internal tensions within his predominantly white crew. As the Germans close in, Owens and his fellow soldiers realize they must overcome their prejudices and work together to survive an overwhelming military disadvantage and protect hundreds of lives from the enemy’s assault.
