Restless is a 2012 British television drama based on William Boyd’s spy novel, directed by Edward Hall. The story centers on Ruth Gilmartin, a young woman whose world is turned upside down when she learns her mother has been living under an assumed identity. Her mother, Eva Delectorskaya, was a spy for British Intelligence during World War II and has spent decades in hiding. As someone from her past resurfaces and threatens her safety, Eva must confront the secrets and dangerous missions that shaped her life, while the narrative weaves between the present day and wartime flashbacks to reveal how she was recruited and trained for espionage.
