Princesa is a 2001 Italian-Brazilian drama directed by Henrique Goldman and based on the true story of Fernanda Farias de Albuquerque. The film follows Fernanda, a 19-year-old trans woman who leaves Brazil for Milan with a singular goal: to earn money for gender confirmation surgery. Working as a sex worker in the city’s underground, she navigates a dangerous world while maintaining her dignity and determination. Starring Ingrid de Souza, Cesare Bocci, and Alessandra Acciai, the film presents an unflinching look at survival, resilience, and the lengths one person will go to reclaim her identity.

This is a single-disc DVD release from Bac Films with a runtime of 94 minutes and an unrated designation. Goldman’s direction brings raw authenticity to Fernanda’s journey, avoiding sentimentality while honoring her strength. Own this powerful and intimate portrait on physical media.
