Nick Cassavetes directs this 2004 romantic drama based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as young lovers whose summer romance in 1940s North Carolina is torn apart by class differences and circumstance. Years later, an older Noah, played by James Garner, reads from a worn notebook to his wife Allie, portrayed by Gena Rowlands, as she struggles with Alzheimer’s disease. The film weaves together their passionate past and their devoted present, exploring how their love persisted through decades of separation and hardship.

This is a single-disc DVD release from New Line Cinema with a runtime of two hours and three minutes, rated PG-13. The film features an ensemble cast including David Thornton, James Marsden, and Heather Wahlquist alongside the leads.
