Optimism is a 1998 jazz album led by tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander alongside pianist David Hazeltine and bassist Dwayne Burno. The session blends hard bop and post-bop through a mix of standards and original compositions, delivering energetic horn work tempered with sophistication across nine tracks including the title cut, a reimagining of “Stranger In Moscow,” and the classic ballad “Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most.”
