One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

Milos Forman directed this 1975 drama based on Ken Kesey’s novel, starring Jack Nicholson as Randle P. McMurphy, a cunning drifter who pretends to be mentally ill to avoid serving time in prison. Once admitted to a state mental hospital, McMurphy’s free-spirited nature clashes violently with the oppressive routine enforced by Nurse Ratched, a coldly authoritarian figure who maintains iron control over the ward’s sedated patients. What begins as a calculated escape becomes a battle of wills as McMurphy emerges as a rebellious leader, challenging the dehumanizing system that surrounds him and his fellow inmates.
