Norbit is a 2007 comedy directed by Brian Robbins and written by Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy, and Jay Scherick. Eddie Murphy stars as Norbit, a meek man raised in an orphanage-restaurant in Boiling Springs, Tennessee by Mr. Wong, also played by Murphy. As a child, Norbit bonds with fellow orphan Kate, but they are separated when she is adopted. Years later, the aggressive Rasputia, played by Murphy in a fat suit, has married Norbit and controls his life through fear and manipulation. When the adult Kate returns to town to purchase the orphanage, Norbit’s feelings for her resurface, and he must find a way to escape his loveless marriage, protect Kate from a crooked suitor played by Cuba Gooding Jr., and stop Rasputia’s brothers from destroying the orphanage.

This single-disc DVD release runs 102 minutes and carries an R rating from Paramount Pictures. The film features broad comedy and physical humor as Murphy navigates multiple roles throughout the story. Grab this used copy and enjoy a piece of early 2000s comedy without the new price tag.
