NCIS: Season 3 is a crime drama that aired on CBS during 2005-2006, following Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team as they investigate crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel. The season opens with the aftermath of a major loss from the previous year, as the team grapples with the death of agent Caitlin Todd and the pursuit of her killer. The ensemble includes Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), forensics expert Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), medical examiner Dr. Donald Mallard (David McCallum), and agent Timothy McGee. New to the team this season are former Mossad officer Ziva David and Jennifer Shepard, the new NCIS director who has a complicated history with Gibbs. The show blends procedural investigation with character-driven storytelling and action sequences.
