Murder, She Wrote is a crime drama series that premiered in 1984 on CBS. Angela Lansbury stars as Jessica Fletcher, a mystery novelist who finds herself investigating murders wherever her travels take her. Alongside Lansbury, the cast includes Claude Akins, Raymond St. Jacques, and William Windom. Created by Peter S. Fischer, Ted Leighton, and William Link, the show presents mysteries as logic puzzles where clues are carefully laid out to mislead viewers. Fletcher encounters dead bodies in unexpected locations across the country, and the series cleverly uses television conventions and guest star appearances to misdirect audiences before revealing solutions.

This complete first season collection contains three DVDs with a total runtime of 18 hours and 27 minutes, rated TV-PG. Directed by Corey Allen, John Llewellyn Moxey, and Seymour Robbie, these episodes launched what would become an enormously popular twelve-season run.
