Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed these three symphonies during his early career, with the G Minor work written when he was just seventeen years old. Conductor Charles Mackerras leads the Prague Chamber Orchestra through Symphony No. 25 in G Minor, Symphony No. 28 in C Major, and Symphony No. 29 in A Major with stylistically informed interpretations that bring out the dramatic character of these pre-Vienna works. The ensemble delivers energetic, tightly coordinated performances that capture the storm-and-stress quality of the G Minor Symphony with particular force, often at brisk tempos while maintaining clarity throughout.
