Monty Python’s Life of Brian is a 1979 British satirical comedy directed by Terry Jones and written by Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, and John Cleese. The film stars the entire Python ensemble, including Idle, Chapman, Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, and Jones himself. Set in 33 A.D. Judea, the story follows Brian Cohen, born in a stable next door to the manger, who through a series of absurd circumstances becomes entangled with a new religion and is mistakenly believed to be the promised messiah. Caught between fanatical followers, his domineering mother, and Roman authorities, Brian must navigate the chaos that ensues, all while the troupe delivers their signature brand of irreverent, absurdist humor.

This is a two-disc DVD edition from Orion Pictures with a runtime of one hour and thirty-four minutes. Rated R for language and some nudity, the film carries an IMDb rating of 8. Owning this used copy lets you experience one of comedy’s most provocative and influential films without the cost of a new release.
