Max is a 2015 family drama directed by Boaz Yakin about a military working dog who served on the frontlines in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott. When Kyle is mortally wounded during a mission, Max is traumatized by the loss of his closest companion and can no longer serve. Shipped back to the United States, the dog struggles to connect with anyone until Kyle’s teenage brother Justin reaches out to him. As Justin and Max build trust together, the dog begins to heal from his trauma while helping the grieving family move forward. The pair soon find themselves investigating the circumstances surrounding Kyle’s death, leading them into unexpected danger and adventure while forming an unlikely bond.
