Liberty’s Kids: The First Fourth of July is a 2002 animated television episode following young reporters Sarah and James as they document pivotal moments in America’s fight for independence. Witness Thomas Jefferson’s final work on the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, then join the reporters as they sneak into Independence Hall on July 4th, 1776, to observe the Second Continental Congress declare American independence from England. The story continues as Sarah and James travel to New York to cover George Washington’s Revolutionary War campaigns, where James is captured and encounters the patriot Nathan Hale, who faces execution with courage and conviction.

This single-disc DVD release runs 30 minutes and carries a TV-Y7 rating, making it suitable for young viewers.
