Law Abiding Citizen is a 2009 crime thriller directed by F. Gary Gray and written by Kurt Wimmer. Gerard Butler stars as a man consumed by rage after a plea bargain allows one of his family’s murderers to walk free. Determined to correct what he sees as a grave injustice, he launches a calculated campaign of vengeance against the killer, the district attorney who made the deal, and everyone else he holds responsible. Jamie Foxx plays the prosecutor caught in the crosshairs of Butler’s methodical pursuit, while the cast also includes Colm Meaney, Michael Gambon, Viola Davis, and Leslie Bibb.
