Jack Taylor: Set 1 is an Irish crime drama series from 2010 based on Ken Bruen’s noir novels. Iain Glen stars as Jack Taylor, a forty-something ex-cop working as a private investigator in Galway. Burned out and struggling with alcohol, Taylor uses his sharp instincts to uncover dark secrets in Dublin’s criminal underworld. The series follows him as he confronts serial murders, vigilante violence, and other sinister forces that reveal the tensions in a country caught between tradition and modern change.

This three-disc DVD set contains 85 minutes of content and includes three feature-length mysteries: The Guards, The Pikemen, and The Magdalen Martyrs. The series is not rated and features coarse language and violence. Directed by Stuart Orme with writing by Anne McCabe, Ralph Christians, and Tom Collins, the cast also includes Iain Glen, Killian Scott, Liam Carney, Nora-Jane Noone, and Ralph Brown. Grab this used copy and experience a gritty crime series without the new retail cost.
