Composer Alan Hovhaness created a body of work deeply inspired by natural landscapes, and this 2003 recording captures four of his orchestral pieces performed by conductor Gerard Schwarz and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The program features Symphony No. 2 (Mysterious Mountain), Symphony No. 66 (Hymn to Glacier Peak), Symphony No. 50 (Mount St. Helens), and Storm on Mount Wildcat, showcasing Hovhaness’s gift for translating mountain vistas and geological drama into contemporary symphonic form.

This single CD presents these nature-themed compositions in vivid orchestral arrangements. Add this used copy to your classical collection at a fraction of retail cost.
