House of the Dead is a 2003 horror-action film directed by Uwe Boll that follows a group of college students who travel to a remote island in Washington’s San Juan Islands to attend a techno rave. When they arrive, they discover the event has been overrun by zombies and monsters controlled by a malevolent force. The cast includes Jürgen Prochnow as a boat captain, Clint Howard as the vessel’s mate, and Jonathan Cherry, Ellie Cornell, Enuka Okuma, and David Palffy among the students caught in the chaos. The screenplay was written by Dan Bates, Dave Parker, and Mark A. Altman.

This single-disc DVD release runs 90 minutes and carries an R rating for violence and language. Artisan Entertainment released this adaptation of the arcade game, which incorporates visual elements from its video game source material throughout. The film features an extended shootout sequence as one of its centerpieces and includes frequent action set pieces as the survivors attempt to escape the island.
