Horatio Hornblower – The New Adventures presents two 2003 British television films starring Ioan Gruffudd as the legendary naval officer during the Napoleonic Wars. In Loyalty, a peace treaty leaves Hornblower without command and struggling financially until he is called back to sea to captain the Hotspur, where he faces Irish conspirators and French adversaries. Duty continues his story as he marries Maria, only to be sent immediately on a dangerous mission to the French coast to locate a missing vessel, entangling him in conflicts between old enemies abroad and political intrigue at home. The supporting cast includes Barbara Flynn, Greg Wise, Julia Sawalha, and Ian McElhinney.

This two-disc DVD release from A&E Video contains both episodes with a combined runtime of three hours and forty-one minutes. The films are presented in widescreen format and rated unrated. Hand-inspected discs mean you can enjoy these naval adventures with confidence.
