Hannah and Her Sisters

Movie / Show Details

Woody Allen wrote and directed this 1986 comedy-drama that weaves together the lives of three sisters across two Thanksgiving celebrations. Hannah, a successful actress and devoted mother, finds her world complicated when her husband Elliot develops romantic feelings for her sister Lee, an emotionally vulnerable woman involved with an older artist. Meanwhile, Hannah’s neurotic ex-husband Mickey, played by Allen himself, reconnects with her third sister Holly as he grapples with his own anxieties about mortality and meaning. The film explores how love, family bonds, and personal struggles intersect within this interconnected group of characters.
