Kara Grainger’s 2008 debut album Grand and Green River blends blues and rock with alternative influences. The Australian singer, songwriter, and guitarist brings a sultry voice and commanding slide guitar work to songs like “What You Wanted,” “On My Way,” and “Dreamed I Was The Devil.” Her classic songwriting approach and modern take on roots and blues music create a seductive sound that draws comparisons to mid-career Bonnie Raitt, with Grainger’s voice ranging from throaty to honeyed over polished bluesy arrangements.

This CD was released on the MRI label and features ten tracks including “Cannot Be Denied,” “I’m Going To Live The Life I Sing About In My Song,” “Sky Is Falling,” “Holding On,” “Bring Me Back,” “Secret Soul,” and “Stuck In Love.” Grab this used copy and own a piece of roots-influenced rock and blues from an artist who has performed at Austin City Limits and toured with Little Feat and Amos Lee.
