Full Metal Jacket (Kubrick Collection 2001 Release) (DVD)

Movie / Show Details

Stanley Kubrick’s 1987 war drama follows a U.S. Marine recruit through the grueling ordeal of boot camp on Parris Island and into combat during the Vietnam War. The film presents two distinct halves: the first chronicles the brutal transformation of soldiers under an unforgiving drill instructor, while the second shifts to the battlefield itself, exploring how the dehumanizing machinery of military training manifests in actual warfare. Through its unflinching portrayal, the film examines the psychological and moral toll that conflict inflicts on those caught within it.
