Muddy Waters recorded this collection of electric Chicago blues in 1968, though this CD release came out in 1996 via MCA Records. The album captures Waters’ powerful vocals over psychedelic-influenced arrangements that push beyond traditional blues into heavier, rock-oriented territory. Standout tracks include the classic “I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man” and “Mannish Boy,” along with a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Let’s Spend The Night Together.” Waters himself had reservations about the production choices, particularly the busy drumming and heavily processed guitar work.

This CD contains eight tracks with a total runtime of approximately 36 minutes. You’re getting authentic electric blues from a legendary artist, presented in the format that made this music accessible to modern listeners. Add this used copy to your collection at a fraction of retail cost.
