Dizzy’s Dream Band is a 1982 documentary concert film recorded live at Lincoln Center, featuring legendary jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie performing with an ensemble of jazz greats. The band includes drummer Max Roach, trumpeter Jon Faddis, pianist John Lewis, and vibraphonist Milt Jackson, among other accomplished musicians who played alongside Gillespie during the bebop era of the 1940s. The nearly three-hour performance showcases Gillespie’s distinctive trumpet work and charismatic stage presence as the ensemble moves through a repertoire spanning Afro-Cuban jazz selections and classic bebop compositions, with rare archival footage of Gillespie and alto saxophonist Charlie Parker also included.

This is a single-disc DVD presentation with a runtime of two hours and fifty-nine minutes, released by Fox Lorber and rated Not Rated. Owning this used copy lets you experience a significant jazz performance without the cost of a new release.
