Defiance is a 2008 war drama directed by Edward Zwick and based on true events. The film follows four Jewish brothers-played by Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber, Jamie Bell, and Allan Corduner-who escape Nazi-occupied Poland and join Soviet partisans in their fight against the Germans. While evading capture and struggling to survive in the forests of Poland and Belorussia, the brothers take on the dangerous responsibility of protecting approximately 1,200 Jews fleeing the Nazi regime, sheltering them in makeshift camps while navigating the harsh wilderness and the complexities of their Soviet allies.
