Review
Drew Tretick and the London Symphony Orchestra perform with such beauty and sensitivity. –Andrea Morricone, renown film composer
One of the key elements of any musician is to develop your own sound. Violinist Drew Tretick has a tone that harkens back to the day when milking a note for all it’s worth was what brought the crowds in, and I am a sucker for it. Usually performing with a self-created electric violin, Tretick shifts gears and plays the more traditional type with the London Symphony Orchestra for an album’s worth of warm soundtrack pieces. Most jazz oriented are the standards For All We Know and What a Wonderful World which feature a Bechet-like vibrato that is quite bel canto. All modern jazzers should take time to appreciate the time honored lesson displayed here that it s not what you say, but the way that you say it. –Jazz Weekly review by George Harris
Drew Tretick’s Cinema Classics is a great favorite on the WQED Morning Show. Wonderful arrangements, terrific choice of material, beautifully recorded with the LSO at Abbey Road and top notch playing from Drew Tretick. –Jim Cunningham, Senior Executive Producer at Classical WQED 89.3 Pittsburgh, PA
