Blue Bone is a blues CD by Eddie Durham, released in 2001 on JSP Records. Durham was a pioneering guitarist and trombonist born in Texas in 1906 who became a key figure in jazz history, working with ensembles including the Blue Devils, Bennie Moten’s orchestra, and Count Basie starting in 1937. He was among the first guitarists to play single-string solos and later pioneered electric guitar amplification. This recording features Durham alongside accomplished musicians including bassist Johnny Williams, pianist Russ Henderson, saxophonist Danny Moss, and drummer Ronnie Verrell, all seasoned professionals who brought their own artistry to swing and blues standards.

Originally recorded in 1981 and released as a vinyl LP, these sides appear on CD for the first time. The album includes eight tracks showcasing Durham’s guitar work, among them the title track Blue Bone, Sliding Along, a rendition of Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, and Wee Jeanie, dedicated to vocalist Jeanie Lambe.
