Behind Enemy Lines is a 2001 action-thriller directed by John Moore and starring Owen Wilson as Lt. Chris Burnett, a US fighter pilot whose reconnaissance mission over Bosnia goes catastrophically wrong. After photographing classified military information, Burnett is shot down and forced to survive in hostile territory while being hunted by a ruthless Serbian general and his forces. Gene Hackman plays Admiral Reigart, Burnett’s commanding officer, who decides to risk his own career by launching an unauthorized rescue operation to bring his pilot home before time runs out.
