CD Details
Back on Top is a blues rock album by Van Morrison released in 1999 on Virgin Records. The record finds Morrison exploring themes of artistic craft, personal resilience, and the burdens of fame through a collection of midtempo rock songs. Tracks like “Philosophers Stone” present his reflections on his creative process, while “Back on Top,” “New Biography,” and “Precious Time” examine survival, celebrity, and mortality respectively. Morrison’s distinctive vocal approach, blending rasp and croon, anchors songs built on crisp ensemble arrangements and deceptively upbeat tempos that recall his celebrated early-1970s work more closely than much of his output from the preceding decade.
This CD contains ten tracks and was released on the Virgin label. The album showcases an eloquent balance of earthy musicality and spiritual restlessness across its runtime. Grab a used copy from us and own this rock record at a fraction of retail cost.
