April Uprising is a 2010 rock album by The John Butler Trio, the Australian guitarist and his bandmates’ first studio release in three years. The record showcases a diverse range of sounds and styles, from the sweeping opening track “Revolution” to intimate acoustic moments, blending personal and political themes throughout. Standout tracks range from the folk-influenced “Ragged Mile (Spirit Song)” and the energetic “C’mon Now” to the rock-disco single “Close to You,” where Butler’s electric Telecaster takes center stage, alongside experimental touches like the steel drum textures on “Take Me.”

This CD was released on Ato Records and contains ten tracks spanning over 40 minutes of music. The album opens with the epic “Revolution” and closes with the whispered acoustic finale “A Star is Born,” a dedication to John Butler’s son. Grab this used copy and experience a focused, accessible collection that merges innovative instrumentation with memorable songwriting.
