Subscription vs Rental vs Buying: Which Is Right for You?

Physical media fans often face a choice: subscribe to a mystery box, rent discs, or buy titles outright. Each option has its advantages depending on your budget, storage space and viewing habits.

Rental. Some services still rent discs by mail, but they often have limited catalogs. Rental is best if you want to watch a movie once without owning it. However, as we saw with Netflix’s DVD shutdown, rental services can disappear.
