CD Details
Young, Rich & Dangerous is the 1996 hip-hop album by Kriss Kross, the Atlanta duo of Chris Kelly and Chris Terry. Under the guidance of producer and mentor Jermaine Dupri, the teenage rappers aimed to transition from their earlier kiddie-rap success into more mature hip-hop territory. The album features a smooth, bass-heavy sound influenced by West Coast G-funk, with mellow keyboards and guest appearances from artists like Da Brat, Aaliyah, and Trey Lorenz. Standout tracks include the title song, “Live and Die For Hip Hop,” and the party single “Tonite’s tha Night,” while “Money, Power and Fame” and “Hey Sexy” showcase the duo’s own production and songwriting abilities.
This CD contains eight tracks with a runtime of approximately thirty minutes, released on So So Def Records. The album balances Dupri’s production expertise with the boys’ growing confidence as performers, delivering a postpubescent flow that combines youthful swagger with professional polish. Add this piece of mid-90s hip-hop to your collection at a used price that won’t drain your wallet.
