Wild Target is a 2010 British comedy directed by Jonathan Lynn and written by Lucinda Coxon and Pierre Salvadori. Bill Nighy stars as Victor Maynard, a solitary and efficient assassin whose carefully ordered life takes an unexpected turn when he decides to spare the life of one of his targets, played by Emily Blunt. A young apprentice, portrayed by Rupert Grint, soon enters the picture, and both he and Blunt’s character mistakenly believe Victor to be a private detective. As the unlikely trio navigate their mismatched partnership, Victor must contend with his unhappy client’s continued murderous intentions while managing his domineering mother, played by Eileen Atkins, and the charming interference of Rupert Everett.
