Way of Time is the second album from Canadian pianist Pamela York, released in 2006 through CD Baby. A Berklee College of Music and Royal Conservatory of Music graduate from Nanaimo, British Columbia, York has performed alongside musicians including John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, and Roseanna Vitro. The album blends six original compositions with six jazz standards, showcasing York’s piano work and her connection to blues and ballad traditions.

This CD features York on piano throughout, with her vocals on “East of the Sun” and “You’ve Changed.” Highlights include the solo piano arrangement of “Caravan,” the blues-influenced “Mama’s Midnight Hour” and “Sphere of Influence,” the tender ballad “All Too Soon (For Anna)” written for her daughter, and the bossa nova-styled “Counting the Stars.” Own this used copy and add a distinctive jazz recording to your collection.
