During the Great Depression, a veterinary student named Jacob Jankowski loses everything after a family tragedy and jumps a train, landing with the struggling Benzini Brothers Circus. There he takes on the role of company veterinarian, which brings him into contact with Marlena, the beautiful equestrian wife of the circus’s demanding ringleader August. As Jacob and Marlena grow closer, their forbidden attraction creates tension within the troupe, especially when August acquires an elephant named Rosie in hopes of reviving the circus’s fortunes. Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel, this 2011 period drama stars Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon, and Christoph Waltz.

This is a single-disc DVD release from Twentieth Century Fox with a runtime of two hours and a US Approved rating. An elderly Jacob narrates the story from the present day, reflecting on the events that unfolded under the big top.
