Shaun Davey composed the soundtrack to Waking Ned Devine, a 1998 film about two friends whose scheme spirals when they discover a lottery winner in their small Irish village. The score blends traditional Irish instrumentation with classical orchestration, creating a playful and charming musical backdrop that captures the spirit of a tight-knit hamlet. The Waterboys’ “Fisherman’s Blues” is featured alongside Davey’s original compositions, which range from funky fiddle-and-whistle arrangements to more intricate orchestral pieces.

This CD contains ten tracks including “Let The Draw Begin,” “Red Herrings,” “Maggie And Finn,” “Cursing In Heaven,” “The Ballad Of Ned Devine/The Witches Reel,” “Jackie’s Theme,” “Michael’s Ride,” and “Beyond Dreams And Spirits,” with a total runtime of approximately 37 minutes. Released in 1998 on the Stage & Screen label, the soundtrack showcases a delightful mix of old and new with impressive musicianship throughout. Own this used copy and enjoy Celtic-inspired film music at a fraction of retail cost.
