Vision presents the sacred medieval chant of 12th-century composer Hildegard von Bingen reimagined through a contemporary electronic lens. Released in 1994, this recording pairs the stark plainchant melodies of the German abbess with heavily produced ambient and trance-influenced arrangements by Richard Souther. Tracks include O Virga Ac Diadema, Sed Diabolus, O Euchari In Leta Via, and O Viridissima Virga, creating an unusual fusion of ancient liturgical music with modern production techniques.

This CD on Angel Records contains seven tracks with a total runtime of approximately 22 minutes. The album blends Hildegard’s sparse, intense vocal lines with electronic accompaniment that ranges from New Age textures to dance-floor rhythms, resulting in a distinctive and unconventional take on medieval sacred music. Grab this used copy and explore a bold experiment in bridging centuries of musical tradition.
