A King’s Love is a 2016 biographical drama directed by Amma Asante that tells the true story of Seretse Khama, the King of Bechuanaland, and Ruth Williams, a London office worker whose marriage in 1948 defied the fierce opposition of their families and governments during the Apartheid era. David Oyelowo stars as Khama alongside Rosamund Pike as Ruth, with supporting performances from Jack Davenport, Laura Carmichael, and Tom Felton. The film explores the personal and political consequences of their union against a backdrop of racial prejudice and international conflict.
