It’s a wubbulous world when Jim Henson brings his Muppet magic to Seussville in this trio of shows, hosted by the famous Cat. Each episode begins in Cat’s playhouse, where a Wubbulouscope whisks viewers into a Seussian story to explore childhood themes. The first is a show about “firsts” as Terrence McBird attempts to fly. We peek in on Sarah Hall Small, and Morton the Elephant celebrating their own first-time accomplishments. Show number two is a charming nod to How the Grinch Stole Christmas, though this time, the Grinch attempts to steal springtime from those happy Seussville citizens who foil his “terrifically terrible plan” in rhyming repartee. Finally, it’s moving day in the last sequence and Jeremy Jalloo is wallowing in self-pity. With flair, the Cat shows up with a traveling elevator to usher Jeremy into a world of opportunities that comes from meeting new people. Such Muppet hilarity, while retaining Seusss’ wordplay and witticisms, is a fitting tribute to the late Theodor Geisel. (Ages 2 to 6) –Lynn Gibson
