Cat Stevens released The Very Best of Cat Stevens in 2000 as a comprehensive survey of his career spanning from the late 1960s through the late 1970s. This 20-song collection traces Stevens’s evolution as a singer-songwriter, showcasing his gift for crafting memorable melodies and his ability to deliver emotionally resonant vocals across a range of arrangements. The set moves through his orchestrated early work, his acclaimed early-1970s period, and his more experimental late-1970s material, demonstrating how he refined his ambitious musical ideas into songs that conveyed deeply personal and bittersweet messages.

Presented as a CD on the A&M label, this compilation includes chart successes and fan favorites like “Wild World,” “Father and Son,” “Lady D’Arbanville,” “Where Do The Children Play?,” and “Hard Headed Woman,” along with one previously unreleased track. A 16-page booklet accompanies the disc, providing context for this career overview. Own a piece of 1970s singer-songwriter history with this used copy from us.
