The Vault is a 2021 Spanish heist thriller directed by Jaume Balagueró. Freddie Highmore stars as Thom Laybrick, a brilliant engineer obsessed with the Bank of Spain’s heavily fortified Madrid headquarters and its legendary underground vault. When the city’s attention turns to the 2010 World Cup finals, Laybrick assembles a team of skilled thieves including Astrid Berges-Frisbey and Sam Riley to attempt an audacious break-in. The vault sits protected by an underground river, making it one of the world’s most secure locations, but Laybrick believes he has found a way in.
