The Thornbirds – The Missing Years is a 1996 Australian miniseries that bridges the original Thornbirds saga. Set in 1943, the story follows Father Ralph as he returns to Drogheda, where he reunites with his former love Meggie, who is caught in a custody dispute with her ex-husband. Their forbidden romance reignites amid the family drama and personal conflicts that define this middle chapter of the epic. Directed by Kevin James Dobson and based on Colleen McCullough’s work, the miniseries stars Amanda Donohoe, Paul Bertram, and Richard Chamberlain.

This single-disc DVD release runs nearly three hours and carries an IMDb rating of 6.2. Produced by The Wolper Organization, it offers fans of the Thornbirds universe a chance to explore the untold years between the original story’s chapters. Own this piece of television history at a used price.
