Released in 2007, The Secret of the Magic Gourd is an animated fantasy directed by Frankie Chung and John Chu that blends live-action and animation. An eleven-year-old boy named Raymond Bao discovers a magical talking gourd while fishing and soon finds that it grants his every wish. What initially seems like a blessing quickly becomes complicated when the gourd’s literal interpretations of his desires create unexpected problems. As Raymond experiences sudden success in school and swimming, he begins to question whether his achievements are truly his own, eventually learning that genuine accomplishment comes from hard work and inner strength rather than magical shortcuts.

This single-disc DVD release runs 84 minutes and carries a G rating from Centro Digital Pictures Ltd. The English version features voice work from Corbin Bleu of High School Musical and a cast including Aaron Drozin, Gigi Leung, and Grace Fulton.
