Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle stars as Sheriff Slim Hoover in this 1920 silent Western comedy directed by George Melford. When prospector Dick Lane disappears and a rival named Buck McKee robs the express office while framing Jack Payson, the lovesick sheriff must untangle a web of crime and romance involving Echo Allen, who finds herself caught between multiple suitors. The film blends slapstick humor with dramatic storytelling, showcasing Arbuckle’s range as both a comedian and serious actor in his feature-length debut.

This Blu-ray release presents the film in its original format with a runtime of 70 minutes, restored from Paramount’s 35mm archival master and preserved by the Library of Congress. The restoration includes the long-lost original scene tints and a new musical score by accompanist Donald Sosin. Pulled from distribution in 1921, the film remained unavailable to the public for decades until this restoration. A hand-inspected copy of this restored silent era gem is yours to own.
