Lizz Wright’s 2008 album The Orchard blends neo-soul, funk, blues rock, and pop into an intimate collection of songs. Working with producer Craig Street, Wright collaborated with an eclectic group of musicians including singer-songwriter Toshi Reagon, members of Calexico, avant-garde guitarist Oren Bloedow, and guest vocalists Catherine Russell and Marc Anthony Thompson. The project drew inspiration from photographs Wright took of an orchard in her rural hometown, and the recording sessions across upstate New York, Arizona, and Brooklyn prioritized spontaneity and musical chemistry to capture authentic, fluid performances.

This CD was released on the Verve Forecast label and contains eleven tracks including “Coming Home,” “My Heart,” “I Idolize You,” “Hey Mann,” “Another Angel,” “When I Fall,” “Leave Me Standing Alone,” “Speak Your Heart,” “This Is,” “Song For Mia,” and “Thank You.” A used copy from us means you own the physical media without the new price tag.
