The Nutcracker: The Untold Story is a 2010 animated musical fantasy directed by Andrei Konchalovsky. Set in 1920s Vienna, the film follows a young girl who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. When the toy springs to life, she is transported to an enchanted kingdom populated by fantastical toys, sugar plums, and dancing fairies. There she learns that the evil Rat King threatens the realm, and only by uncovering a hidden secret can she save the Nutcracker and restore the prince to his rightful throne. The voice cast includes Elle Fanning, Nathan Lane, Frances de la Tour, and John Turturro.

This single-disc DVD release runs 110 minutes and carries a PG rating from Freestyle Releasing. The film features eight original songs with lyrics by Oscar-winning Tim Rice, drawing inspiration from Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet score.
