Based on Cassandra Clare’s fantasy series, this 2013 action film follows a teenage girl living in Brooklyn who discovers she belongs to a secret lineage of Shadowhunters-half-angel warriors locked in an eternal battle against supernatural evil. When her mother mysteriously disappears, she joins forces with a group of Shadowhunters, including a charming warrior and her best friend, to navigate the hidden supernatural world and rescue her mother before a rogue Shadowhunter can exploit a powerful magical artifact. Along the way, the group faces demons, vampires, and other dark forces while navigating complicated relationships and uncovering dangerous secrets.
