Billy Eckstine’s smooth baritone takes center stage on this 2014 compilation from Jasmine Music, which gathers four complete vocal jazz albums recorded between 1957 and 1961. The collection includes duets with Sarah Vaughan on Irving Berlin standards like Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Cheek to Cheek, and You’re Just in Love, alongside collaborations with jazz legends Duke Ellington and Quincy Jones. Pete Rugolo directed arrangements by Billy May on the album Once More With Feeling, creating a refined selection of standards that showcases Eckstine’s mastery of the jazz vocal tradition.

This two-disc set presents the original recordings remastered and brings together material from Billy Eckstine And Sarah Vaughan Sing The Best Of Irving Berlin, Billy Eckstine’s Imagination, Once More With Feeling, and Billy Eckstine And Quincy Jones At Basin Street East. Hand-inspected and graded discs make this used copy a smart way to explore a legendary vocalist’s catalog.
